Another convenient and affordable connection is (also in low season) with RYAN AIR from London-Stansted to Ancona (Italy) (www.ryanair.com) and than with a connected night ferry directly to Stari Grad (in high season) or via Split in low season. More information about ferry timetables please find at www.jadrolinija.hr.
From almost all major European cities there are direct flights to Zagreb from where a regular transfer to Split is available. There are also direct flights to Split from Amsterdam, Düsseldorf and Rome. For more information please visit the site of Croatia Airlines (see below).
By Car - For traveling to Croatia by car you will need a green card and a valid driving license. Tolls are collected on major motorways and several bridges. For more information please visit the Croatian Automobile Club site www.hak.hr.
Ferry - All major cities on the Croatian coast and islands are connected by fast coastal lines. There are also direct international lines from Ancona, Pescara and Bari. There are several companies providing this service. For detailed information please visit www.jadrolinija.hr.
For the last bit of the travel to Stari Grad you will need to use the ferry from Split (takes 1h and 45min). In high season there are up to five connections every day and there is no need for booking the tickets upfront. More information and the valid timetable please find here.
